Overview

Thanks to the development of satellite technologies, high definition satellites are constantly developed and operated across the world. Consequently, the economic and industrial utilization value of spatial information is growing. In Korea, the development of satellites equipped with various sensors such as multi-purpose satellites, communication, ocean meteorological satellites, and science and technology satellites, as well as their operation, is consistently under way. To utilize the images obtained from such various satellites, systematic and scientific quality verification and calibration are essential. The “Cal/Val and Quality Assessment Processor” is a software product that realizes algorithms for the verification and calibration (Cal/Val) of EO/SAR/IR/Hyperspectral images as well as the identification and enhancement of image quality, and features the following major functions.

Features and Functions

- Realizes an algorithm according to Cal/Val and quality
  factor by characteristics (Spatial/Radiometric/Geometric)
- Supports Cal/Val activity through the evaluation of
  image quality
- Utilizes image quality enhancement algorithms such
  as MTFC
- Supports processing of satellite (aviation) images captured
  through various sensors (EO/SAR/IR/Hyper spectral)
- Supports processing of high volume high definition satellite
  (aviation) images
- User-oriented and easy-to-use graphic user interface (GUI)
